Faculty Recruitment in School of Pharmaceutical Studies and Drugs Delivery Technologies at GTU

Gujarat Technological University is a premier academic and research institution which has driven new ways of thinking since its 2007 founding, established by the Government of Gujarat vide Gujarat Act No. 20 of 2007. The University caters to the fields of Engineering, Architecture, Management, Pharmacy and Computer Science. The University has about 4,00,000 students enrolled in a large number of Diploma, Under Graduate, Post Graduate programs along with the robust Doctoral program.

Professor - 01 post (Gen-01)
EDUCATION QUALIFICATION :

(i) Bachelors and Master degree in Pharmacy with First Class or equivalent either in Bachelors or Master degree and PhD or equivalent in appropriate branch. Post PhD publications and guiding PhD student is highly desirable.
(ii) Possess the basic knowledge of Computer application as prescribed by the Government of Gujarat.

EXPERIENCE: Minimum of 10 years teaching and/or research and/or industrial experience of which at least 5 years should be at the level of Associate Professor.
OR
Minimum of 13 years’ experience in teaching and/or Research and/or Industry. In case of research experience, good academic record and books/research paper publications/ IPR/ Patents record shall be required as deemed fit by the expert members of Selection Committee. If the experience in industry is considered, the same shall be at managerial level equivalent to Associate Professor with active participation record in devising/ designing planning, executing analyzing, quality control, innovating training, technical books/ research paper publications/IPR/patents, etc. as deemed fit by the expert members in Selection committee.
Associate Professor - 02 post (Gen-02)
EDUCATION QUALIFICATION :

(i) Bachelors and Master degree in Pharmacy with First Class or equivalent either in Bachelors or Master degree and PhD or equivalent in appropriate branch. Post PhD publications and guiding PhD student is highly desirable.
(ii) Possess the basic knowledge of Computer application as prescribed by the Government of Gujarat.
EXPERIENCE :
Minimum of 5 years’ experience in teaching and/or research and/or industry of which at least 2 years shall be posted PhD is desirable.
Assistant Professor - 02 post (Gen-02, SEBC-01, ST-01)
EDUCATION QUALIFICATION :

(i) Bachelors and Master degree in Pharmacy with First Class or equivalent either in Bachelors or Master degree and PhD or equivalent in appropriate branch. Post PhD publications and guiding PhD student is highly desirable.
(ii) Possess the basic knowledge of Computer application as prescribed by the Government of Gujarat.
EXPERIENCE :
Minimum of 5 years’ experience in teaching and/or research and/or industry of which at least 2 years shall be posted PhD is desirable.
Important Instructions 
(1) The Applicant should fill up the category III of the Academic Performance Indicator(API) based Performance Based Appraisal System(PBAS) for the post of Associate Professor and Professor as per the guidelines as Annexure-I.
(2) The applicant must ensure that he/she fulfil the eligibility criteria for the post. 

(3) The prescribed qualifications and experience are minimum and the mere fact that a candidate possesses the same does not entitle him/her for being called for Interview.
(4) For all the mentioned teaching posts, the norms of AICTE/PCI, State Government and University will be applicable from time to time.
(5) The University reserves the right to call the candidates for interview whereas applicable to a reasonable number on the basis of skill/written/screening exam or on the basis of higher educational qualification and/or experience. No correspondence will be entertained with the applicants who were not short-listed to be called for interview.
(6) Candidates called for written test/interview shall have to appear at their own cost.
(7) Applicant must produce original testimonials, certificates and other documents at the time of the interview if called.
(8) Selection will be made on the basis of candidates’ previous record and their overall performance in the interview. Excellent academic background, high-quality publications, a potential to get research funding from Government agencies and industries, appropriate academic professional activities are undertaken and a good innovative teaching record would be some of the important criteria for selection of the teaching positions. Appointed teachers may be assigned other academic or administrative responsibilities in addition to their regular teaching and research.

(9) The University shall verify the antecedents and documents submitted by a candidate at any time, at the time of appointment or during the tenure of service. In case if it is detected that the documents submitted by the candidate are fake or the candidate has undesirable clandestine antecedents/background and has suppressed the said information, his/her services shall be liable to be terminated.
(10) In case of any inadvertent mistake in the process of selection which may be detected at any stage even after the issuance of appointment letter, and/or after appointment, the University reserves the right to modify/withdraw/cancel any communication made to the candidate.
(11) The University reserves the right to fill or not to fill any or all posts.
(12) Canvassing in any form on behalf of or by any candidate will disqualify him/her from being considered.
