AHMEDABAD: Gujarat Technological University (GTU) will organise 7th Centralized Placement Fair for Pharmacy for students of Final Year D.Pharm/B.Pharm/M.Pharm on 12th & 13th May 2018 (Saturday-Sunday) at GTU Chandkheda Campus. Total 70 companies with more than 1000 job offers have given confirmation to take part in this placement fair. Due to strategic planning of GTU, students will get job offer within 1 week of completion of exam. For the first time online video grooming concept has been introduced by GTU in association with BISAG, Prof.(Dr) Navin Sheth, Vice Chancellor of GTU said.
This year top companies coming for campus placement will several big names from Gujarat and India. Nearly 1,750 B. Pharm, 460 M.Pharm and 320 D.Pharm students are expected to PASS OUT in the month of May-June 2018. Out of which 800 B. Pharm, 300 D. Pharm and 400 M. Pharm students (from 16 different Specializations) are expected to participate in this Centralized Placement Event planned by GTU. These students are ready to join industry on immediate basis, as their exams will finish just before the placement fair dates.
Dr. C.N. Patel, Dean of Pharmacy Section & BoG member of GTU said that till today, Centre for Pharmaceutical studies and drug delivery technology (CPSD) GTU has organized 6 successful centralized placement fair in years 2014 – 2017 and has lined up one more such fair in this year. Each year the Centralized
Pharmacy placement fair experiences increase in number of job offers as well as number of participant students. We are happy that now both the numbers have been reached at around 1000. To train the students for the placement fair, GTU had recorded various sessions of per-placement workshops by eminent subject experts on various subjects. So that Student can effectively face the interview and crack it easily. Students are require to go through these video sessions as per their convenience, before they actually appear for interview. Students may refer the videos uploaded on youtube channel. Topics will cover Career Option (Job Openings) available to Pharmacist, Pharma Regulatory Affairs as Career Option, IPR as Career Option, IPR & Business Development in Pharma Industry, Pharmaceutical Production: Scope & Opportunities, Pharmaceutical & Healthcare Marketing as Career Option, Role of Pharmacologists & Clinical Pharmacists in Industry, Soft Skills Development.
GTU will make arrangement so that each student will get opportunity to face interview for at least 10 companies. GTU has divided all 70 companies into 5 broad groups. Students have to Select 02 (Two) preferences from each group, for which they would like to appear in interview from respective Group (A, B, C, D, E) companies, so in total students can select maximum 10 (Ten) companies. Select options very carefully based on your Job Area Interest, Company and Job Location, Amit Patel, co-ordinator of the placement fair told.
