The Institute of Nano Science and Technology, Mohali (INST-Mohali) has been established by the Government of India as a specialized centre of excellence to promote the growth of R&D in, and exploit the application-potential of, Nano Science and Technology in the country. It is envisaged that INST-Mohali will initially focus on R&D in the areas of nanomaterials, nanometrology, nano-bio pharma, nano-medicine and on nano R&D relevant for food and agriculture. It is also expected to focus on basic research, human resource development and transfer of intellectual knowledge in the area of nanotechnology to industry to exploit its application potential. INST-Mohali invites applications / nominations for the post of Director.
Post : Junior Research Fellow
Applications are invited from highly motivated and bright candidates for the position of Project Junior Research Fellow in the following research project funded by DBT, Government of India under the supervision of Dr. Surajit Karmakar, Scientist E, Principal Investigator, Institute of Nano Science and Technology (INST), Mohali.
Title of the Research Project: Controlling Diabetic Retinopathy (DR) through novel dopamine-melatonin combination nanotherapy.
Qualifications:
Essential Qualifications: M.Tech./ M.Sc. in Chemical Sciences/ Chemistry/ Biotechnology/ Life Sciences/ M.Pharm; with valid NET/ GATE/ GPAT score qualification.
Desirable Qualifications: Candidates having experience in designing and development of nano-formulations, nanoparticles, molecular biological techniques will be preferred.
Age Limit: Must not be over 28 years as on January 25th, 2019 which is relaxed for SC/ ST/ PH/ OBC candidates as per government rules.
Salary: Rs. 25000 + 20% HRA per month.
Engagement Period:  Initially one year and may be extended on satisfactory performance of the candidate.
General Terms And Conditions
The position is purely temporary and on contractual basis and renewable each year subject to satisfactory performance. The position is co-terminus with the project. Candidate selected for this position can also apply for the regular PhD program of INST provided they satisfy eligibility criteria.
No TA/DA will be paid for attending the interview.
