TNIDMA to organise scientific seminars to upskill industry personnel of pharma SMEs attending Pharmac South

With a view to inspire and upskill the industry personnel of the pharma companies in the MSME sector, the Tamil Nadu state board of the Indian Drugs Manufacturers' Association will conduct four scientific and technical lectures along with the panel discussions on the second day of Pharmac South, the pharmaceutical trade fair which is going to be held on 6th and 7th of July in Chennai Trade Centre.
 
Stalwarts of multinational pharmaceutical companies operating in India will speak on various subjects on different sessions. Unlike previous years, this edition of the pharma expo gives priority to brand building, supply chain marketing, regulatory aspects in addition to marketing segment of business, said J Jayaseelan, chairman of TNIDMA.
 
Since pharmaceutical industry is a regulated one, a separate seminar on regulatory affairs will be conducted for the start-ups and growing companies. The primary objective of this session is to educate the entrepreneurs on how to comply with the rules and regulations in order to deliver quality pharmaceuticals to the healthcare sector. Dr. S. Eswara Reddy, the drugs controller general of India (DCGI) will speak on regulatory affairs.
 

About brand building, Srinivas Lanka, former vice-president of Alkem Laboratories and Shailesh Patil, Director of Mumukshu Healthcare will share their views in the panel discussion titled ‘‘Challenges and Opportunities in Pharma Marketing & Brand building’. The session will start at 11.30 am and continue up to 1.30 pm. 
 
On marketing segment of the industry, Hari Natarajan and Deepankar Khare from IQVIA, formerly Quintiles IMS Holdings, Inc, an American multinational company serving the combined industries of health information technologies and clinical research, will deliver lectures on 'Current Market Trends and Supply Chain Management' in the forenoon session.
 
The second session will start at 2.30 pm and the subject is 'Challenges and Guidance for Pharma Distribution in the Post GST Scenario’. M Pnadiyan, Associate Director of BSR Company and Sridhar Narayan, Adjunct Professor at Great Lake Institute of Management, Chennai will lead the panel discussion.
 
The much sought-after motivator speaker Shiv Khera from Mumbai will speak on business development in the afternoon of the first day.
 
In both the days of the trade fair, a buyer-seller meet will be organised from morning to evening in a separate hall, in which brand mangers and outsourcing persons from big pharma companies will interact with contract manufacturers and small scale entrepreneurs of the southern states.
