The history of Jamia Hamdard begins with the establishment of a small Unani clinic in the year 1906 by Hakeem Hafiz Abdul Majeed, one of the well-known practitioners of Unani System of Medicine of his time. Hakeem Hafiz Abdul Majeed had a vision of making the practice of Unani Medicine into a scientific discipline so that Unani medicines could be dispensed in a more efficacious manner to patients.

Applications are invited for temporary position under the following DBT- sponsored project awarded to Prof. (Dr.) Seyed Ehtesham Hasnain, Vice Chancellor, Jamia Hamdard and Head, Jamia Hamdard – Institute of Molecular Medicine.
Project: Molecular epidemiological investigations based on NGS sequencing of Mycobacterium tuberculosis isolates from Tripura, Meghalaya and tea gardens of Assam, NE region.
Qualifications: PhD in Life Sciences, Microbiology or Bioinformatics with at least two research paper in Science Citation Indexed (SCI) journals.
Advanced knowledge of Molecular Biology, Immunology or Epidemiology will be preferred. Experience in area of infectious biology especially in Tuberculosis research will be an added advantage.
Job requirement: Biological Research and other research activities as designated by PIs.
Consolidated emolument: @ Rs.36,000/- p.m. + 30% HRA
Duration: 3 years Age limit: 35 years
