Job Description
The scientist is responsible for designing and conducting pre-formulation and formulation development studies, scale-up and manufacture of clinical supplies, and technology transfer to manufacturing sites for biologicals. The scientist is also responsible for working collaboratively with multi-disciplinary teams, author development documents, supporting organization initiatives, assessing new capabilities / technologies. The selected individual is expected to have knowledge of biophysical techniques and approaches to stabilization of protein/ monoclonal antibody formulations. Working experience with proteins, antibodies and analytical techniques such as HPLC, SDS-PAGE, DSC is highly desirable.

Key Objectives
- Design and conduct studies to characterize molecular and biophysical properties of peptides, proteins, monoclonal antibodies and other large molecules
- Design and development of parenteral biologic formulations and conduct stability studies to understand chemical and biological activity under storage and stressed conditions
- Perform scale up and process development studies for drug products by using expertise/knowledge of scale-down/scale-up principles
- Manufacture and supply formulations/drug product to non-pivotal clinical studies
- Collaborate with and support scientists from various departments in a matrix team environment
- Author technical reports and regulatory documents
- Keep abreast of relevant new technologies & regulatory expectations/requirements
- Ensure work activities are aligned with relevant Quality, regulatory and EHS requirements
- Candidate Profile
B.S. (5+ years of relevant experience) or MS (0-2 years of industrial experience) in pharmaceutical/biotechnology labs with a focus on formulation and analysis of monoclonal antibodies, proteins, peptides, or vaccines. Additional Skills/Preferences
• Basic understanding of protein chemistry, degradation pathways, and general approaches for stabilization
• Knowledge of biophysical techniques and ability to apply them for characterization and problem-solving during formulations development
• Ability in the design, execution and interpretation of experiments/data to drive optimization of formulations
• Ability to independently contribute from the bench
• Good oral and written communication skillsAdditional Information
