Job Description 
Position Purpose 
Perform scientific experiments or pilot plant processes for the preparation and timely delivery of drug substances (DS), drug products (DP), processes and procedures in collaboration with a multifunctional project team coordinated by Project Leader. Contribute to mainte-nance of lab instruments/infrastructure.
Major Accountabilities  
1. Meet quality, quantity and timelines in all assigned projects. 
2. Perform and document scientific experiments.
3. Plan activities in collaboration with experienced team members if necessary. Seeks proactively for support and coaching from Project Leader or Scientific Expert/or other team members during the whole process if necessary.
4. Provide documentation of raw data (ARD), experimental details (PHAD), evaluate and contribute to interpretation of results if necessary.
5. Optimize existing methods(ARD)/composition and process(PHAD) (lab or plant) or contribute to new method development and reproduce published methods.
6. Actively support the transfer of analytical procedures to pilot plant or production, including process steering controls etc. (For ARD).
7. Actively support the transfer of formulation technology or manufacturing procedures to pilot plant or production, including process steering controls etc. (For PHAD).
8. Communicate problems, perform safety and literature searches under guidance from more experienced team members.
9. Address simple problems. 
10. Actively perform simple safety and literature searches under direction of relevant and experienced team members.
11. Keep record of chemicals, intermediates, excipients and solvents within own area of responsibility.
12. Collaborate with other team members to facilitate deliveries of DS and/or DP.
13. Schedule and perform routine maintenance and calibration of lab instruments /equipment.
14. Co-ordinate with the service providers to ensure timely calibration of lab instrument/equipment.
15. Actively contributes to team goals.
16. Ensure all own activities are aligned with overall drug development process.
17. Work according to appropriate SOPs, GMP, GLP, QM, HSE, ISEC & Novartis Guidelines.
Candidate Profile
•  
M.Pharm/M.Sc./M.Tech. Adequate knowledge of English (oral and written).
•  Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience
•  Awareness for safe handling of chemicals, potentially dangerous materials and equipment.
•  Adequate scientific or technical knowledge in a specific area (e.g. synthetic, analytical, galenical).
•  Adequate knowledge of laboratory and/or technical tools.
•  Good knowledge of software and computer tools.
•  Basic presentation skills.
•  Good communication skills

Selection Procedure: lnterview will be conducted for the eligible candidates. However, if more number of candidates are found eligible for the post advertised, Written Test/ Skill Test may also be conducted on the same day before final round of Interview.

Major Accountabilities
1. Plan, organize, perform and document scientific experiments/GMP testing/manufacturing process development activities under moderate supervision; - Take over responsibility for and utilize special tools/equipment or specialized facilities under moderate supervision; schedule and perform maintenance and qualification of instruments/equipment - Keep record of chemicals, intermediates, excipients, standards or consumables
2. Work according to appropriate standards as defined in Quality Manual, SOPs, ethical, health, safety, environment (HSE), and information security (ISEC) guidelines; actively participate in proactive compliance and continuous improvement.
3. Provide documentation of raw data, evaluate and interpret results obtained for advanced but established methods or procedures. Review and verify raw data generated by others
4. Write protocols, reports or lab procedures based on templates under moderate supervision
5. Recognize, communicate and provide input to the solution of complex problems (e.g. deviations and unexpected results from experiments); address and solve problems within own area of responsibility.
6. For technical development units: Contribute to development of new methods or optimize existing methods (lab or plant); Contribute to the evaluation of new lab equipment. For GMP units: ensure compliance to cGMP
7. For technology-focused role: Perform information searches under moderate guidance. Actively participate in knowledge exchange. Train and coach technicians, temporary employees and employees under training/education.
8. Support non-project activities as needed, such as Op Ex, GDP coordinator etc.
Candidate Profile
Master or Bachelor of Science or Apprenticeship in industry (or equivalent technical education) with 3 years relevant experience in industry or equivalent Advanced knowledge of English (oral and written). Adequate knowledge in local site-language, as required for the position
