Pharmaceutical Chemistry
The Department of Chemistry was started in the year 1891. It was established under the headship of Dr. R. N. Athawle. The faculty of this department is actively engaged in teaching and research since its inception. Department of Mathematics is a recognized research center of the affiliating University, i.e.Devi Ahilya Vishwavidyalaya, Indore (M.P). Approximately 70% of our faculty is actively engaged in research work. List of research areas and expertise available in the Department: Fixed point theory, Operations Research, Fuzzy Matrix Theory, History of Mathematics Fibonacci Numbers. Ongoing research project: one Major Research Project on “Study of health problems due to industrial pollution using fuzzy matrix theory as tools” by Dr. Viverk Raich.

THEME OF THE SEMINAR

Drug-Regulatory Affairs act at the interface between the pharmaceutical industry and drug regulatory authorities across the world. Its function is to ensure that pharmaceutical products to be marketed meet all the regulatory expectations with regards to quality, purity, safety and efficacy. In addition, it also confirms the appropriateness and accuracy of product information.
The seminar aims to provide information on the functional domains and scope of pharma regulatory affairs, including but not limited to the following:
• Preparation of organized and scientifically valid NDA, AND A, INDA, MAA, DMF submissions.
• Ensure adherence and compliance with all the applicable cGMP, ICH, GCP, GLP, WHO, FDA guidelines, regulations and laws.
• Providing expertise and regulatory intelligence in translating regulatory requirements into practical workable plans.
• Advising the pharma-companies on regulatory aspects that would affect their products and services.

CALL FOR ABSTRACTS
Scientific papers are invited for poster and oral presentation. Original and unpublished work shall reach convenor by 12th March 2019. The abstract should be submitted online in MS word, Times New Roman, 12 font, 1.5cm spacing with maximum 250 words to pharmacy01@gmail.com Only registered candidates will be allowed to present the accepted papers and he/she must be one of the co- authors of the paper during submission. The abstract should include title in capital, authors with surname followed by initials and affiliations.
The name of the presenting author should be indicated by underlining the author. The size of the poster should not exceed 36x30 inch. Not more than one abstract should be submitted by one author. Six amongst the submitted abstracts will be selected for oral presentation. A time slot of 5-7 minutes will be allotted to the presenter for presenting his/her work. Best oral/ posters will be awarded.

Indian Pharmacological Society is the member - International Union of Basic and Clinical Pharmacology (IUPHAR). The genesis of pharmacology in India dates back to the beginning of 20th Century when Col.Ram Nath Chopra took over the reins in 1921 as the first Professor of Pharmacology at the School of Tropical Medicine, Calcutta. At the Fifth IUPHAR held in San Francisco in July 1972, IPS was declared official National Society of Pharmacologists of India. In the glorious century of scientific advancement, the contribution of Pharmacologists in India is well recognized. In spite of sophisticated infrastructural facilities, we have abundant expertise and magnificent ancestral legacy of indigenous systems of medicine. This is still vibrant and promises to show to the world the immense potential of Indian Pharmacologists.

About the Symposium and Workshop
The Clinical pharmacist's role in health systems continues to evolve from a product focus to a patient-centered care system ensuring the safe and responsible use of medications in all practice. It also provides a platform for the researchers to present the finding of their research work and discuss the outcomes with the experts in different areas. We also envisage the possibility of collaboration during the two day deliberations which is the need of the hour for the advancement of scientific temper. The main focus of the workshop is to understand the different methods of screening of drugs for neurodegenerative disorders for preclinical studies and also the importance of clinical pharmacist and their responsibilities. Organizers have planned hands on training of some of these experimental methods for both topics which will be very useful for the young researchers working in the area of neurodegenerative disorders.

"TO UPLIFT THE SOCIAL AND OFFICIAL STATUS OF PHARMACY PROFESSION IN NEAR FUTURE”
This is the prime aim and objective of this convention.
In western and advanced countries, the pharmacy profession is recognized as the best profession. But in our country, it is painful to say that pharmacy profession is not yet valued properly, though, there is no doubt that the practice of pharmacy is one of the hon'ble profession in the world. We being the scientific professionals share our thoughts to every corner of country through social media.  Fortunately, we were invited to submit our proposals to the pharmacy council of India in a meeting at PCI office on 23.10.18.  Finally, PCI has approved this convention accordingly on 5.1.2019 in a general meeting at GMSD campus Guwahati-16 with the pharmacists of different sectors constitute the national pharmacy convention committee, Guwahati to fulfill our dream to change our social status and more particularly to discuss about mission and vision of modern pharmacy practice as per the pharmacy act 1948; PPR 2015 and drugs and cosmetics act 1940 & rules 1945.
The main attraction of the Convention is the presence of Dr. B. Suresh. President of PCI and Central Executive committee of PCI along with other renowned dignitaries. The Pharmacist can have a live interaction with the focal persons. The students will also get an exposure to the diversity of Modem Pharmaceutical Science, particularly in Research, Academic, Production, Marketing and its Clinical Application by exchanging their thoughts with Resource persons.

CALL FOR ABSTRACT FOR POSTER PRESENTATIONS
The Abstract should be structured into the following sections: Title, Authors (List of authors, presenting author listed first). Affiliation (Institutional Affiliation), E-mail and phone number of submitting author. Type of Study: (Clinical/Basic/Experimental), Objectives, Methods, Results, and Conclusions.
Guidelines on Submission of Abstracts:
1. Registration for the conference is mandatory for presentation of the abstract.
2. The abstract (about 300 words) must be submitted online only in MS-svord Hie (Font: Times New Roman. 12 size, and 1.5 line spacing).
3. Abstracts will be judged according to the scientific merit and relevance by the scientific committee.
3. The presenting author should be willing to present the work during the conference as a poster presentation as assigned by the scientific committee.
4. If an abstract is accepted as a poster presentation, the presenting author will be requested to be available for discussion during the corresponding poster viewing session.
5. At the time of abstract submission, the submitter must identify who will be the presenting author. To lie eligible to present, authors will be required to confirm they had full access to all of the data in the study and take responsibility for the integrity of the data, accuracy of the data analysis, and approving the data for presentation. The presenting author need not be the first author, but must be a listed author on the abstract. Only one presenter is permitted per abstract.
